We hope you can come to our AGM next week, but if not we'd still like to hear your suggestions for next year's meeting programme. See below.

Thursday 22 May: Education in the Internet Age and Branch AGM
Chair's letter

After light refreshments and the formal business of the AGM, Mark Chamberlain, RM's learning platform business manager, will discuss the challenges for schools in the internet age to embrace IT and provide services to all involved: teachers, school staff, pupils and parents.


Thursday 24 April: Branch visit to the Defence Academy, Shrivenham
visit to the Defence Academy

This year's branch visit was a guided tour of some of the military hardware and technology on display at the Defence Academy in Shrivenham. The tour, which took in the Gun Shed, the Tank Shed and unexpected bonus of the Small Arms Armoury, was a great success. (more photos)


Ideas for meetings?

We always welcome ideas for meeting topics. Most sessions for next year's programme are already pencilled in, but if you have a subject you would specially like to be covered, please use the feedback form to let us know.

Thursday 5 June: Computer Whizz: The Best Is Yet to Come

A reminder that if you know any children who are wondering whether to study Computer Science - or even if you don't - you should find this BCS-sponsored session at the Cheltenham Science Festival relevant as well as highly entertaining.

Dave Cliff is reprising the lecture he has been giving to rave reviews entitled The Best is Yet to Come, as part of the BCS series of 50th Anniversary events.


Tech Stuff

The next Oxford Geek Night is on 25 June and a date has now been set for BarCampOxford, on the weekend of 20-21 September.
