SUMMARY:Digital Forensics\, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Hexa
 decimal! (and AGM)
DESCRIPTION:\nSimon Biles\, Thinking Forensics\nPicture the scene - in the
living room of the house\, a body lies on the floor\, a knife protruding f
rom the chest. An older\, technologically illiterate Detective Inspector s
pies a laptop on the coffee table and calls over his younger Detective Ser
geant. 'Take a look at that will you?' The Sergeant opens the laptop\, gue
sses the password on the second attempt ( it's the name of the dog )\, bro
wses through the victims diary and discovers the meeting with the murderer
arranged just before the time of death as confirmed by the Pathologist. T
hey rush to the car\, blues and twos on and head off to arrest the suspect
before they can flee the country.\n\nThis is absolutely not what Digital
 Forensics is like\, however\, in my humble opinion\, it's a lot better - a
lbeit a lot slower ! In this talk\, I'll go through what actually happens
in the real world\, and the kinds of evidence that are really found and pr
esented in cases of murder\, terrorism\, serious organised crime and more.
..\nBio:\nSimon Biles is an experienced Digital Forensics Expert Witness.
