SUMMARY:Using supercomputers\, private and public clouds to opportunistical
ly run HTC and HPC applications
DESCRIPTION:VIRTUAL MEETING ONLY\nYou will need to register for the event.\
nAfter registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing info
rmation about joining the webinar.\n\nAndrew Lahiff\, UK Atomic Energy Aut
hority\nThe opportunistic use of computing resources sources from private\
, academic and public clouds provides an infrastructure to support High Pe
rformance Computing in most general terms. This can then be exploited acro
 ss many different areas of science\, engineering\, finance\, etc.\n\nThis
talk will consider HTC and HPC using the PROMINENCE platform developed to
provide fusion researchers with access to a range of computing resources d
erived from cloud facilities\, and the critical importance of containers a
s a way of ensuring that scientific workloads can be run reliably and repr
oducibly anywhere across the clouds.\n\nMeetings are free to attend and no
n-BCS members are welcome. You will need to register for this event.
