Paul Stanton, Associate Director at Jacobs Consultancy
Paul will explain geospatial systems, their key defining features and how they can integrate with other key information systems in the enterprise. Paul will also discuss examples of applications, including those from Google, Yahoo and Microsoft, and the privacy issues they provoke, as well as future developments in the field of geospatial systems.
About Paul
Paul is an Associate Director at Jacobs Consultancy, part of an international professional services company employing over 60,000 staff worldwide. Originally trained in the fields of architecture and surveying, an enforced career change in the early 90s led to his becoming a chartered Transport Planner. He also holds two BCS charterships and is a registered PRINCE2 practitioner.
Paul specializes in the specification and construction of regional and sub-regional transport models used to formulate and evaluate local and national transport policy and to develop the business case for major transport schemes and interventions. He has been an advocate of GIS since he first came into contact with the technology 16 years ago. Within his profession he continues to promote stronger integration of GIS technology with transport modelling tools and techniques and wider use of geodemographics and spatial statistics.

- Begin at 7:00pm for 7.30 start and end at around 9:00pm. Light refreshments at 7:00pm.
