David Evans will discuss the thinking and the challenges behind BCS’s strategic goals, and how that is put into practice. From democracy to shopping, education to entertainment, digital technologies are rewriting our civilisation. Those that are shaping the technology are – however deliberately or unwittingly – shaping our civilisation. This is where our moral purpose, our professional ethics, and our technical capability converge, and it is both exciting and daunting. BCS as a community of members who are committed to ethics and can harness technology must rise to the challenge. Let’s discuss how we go about this!
